This is likely to change in the near future. With their huge success in the UK, it is only a matter of time before they make it big here in the States.
Dawn Richard (R&B/Soul)
The name might not sound familiar, but you may know Dawn Richard from the very once successful Danity Kane. Dawn Richard made her breakthrough into the music industry back in 2005 when she won Making the Band 3 and joined the newly formed group Danity Kane. After Danity Kane’s rise and then fall in 2009 and after failing to make a name for herself in Diddy’s Dirty Money collective, Richard decided a solo career was going to be her main focus. Successfully releasing her own mix-tapes and then releasing a full LP as an indie-artist, Dawn Richard is on the rise as one of the coolest, most refreshing and creative artists. GoldenHeart (2013), and Dawn’s up and coming sophomore album BlackHeart (2015) are part of the “Heart” trilogy with RedemptionHeart (TBA) finalizing the project. This woman can do it all, she is stunning visually and vocally, her choreography and videos are very creative and her lyrics are mesmerizing. If she doesn’t become your favorite, we don’t have to be friends.
